SONG OF THE DAY

Yes, it's a silly love song, but if Paul McCartney can do it, then damn it, so can I.  Currently practicing how I'm playing and singing it, and singin' that bridge part is still a bit squidgy, but I'll get there before long and then record it for better or worse.

Can’t Forget

There’s a love that you remember
There’s a love you can’t forget
There’s a love so sweet and tender
There’s a love that makes you wet
There a love you’ve carried with you
That can always make you sad
Seems like nine times out of ten
That’s the love you never had

                But you can’t forget love
When it’s found a way into your heart
                You can’t forget love
Though it’ll tear your life apart
                You can’t forget love
It’s the only thing that’s real
Of the many things that we forget
We remember well how love once made us feel

There’s a love that you can buy
There’s a love that you must earn
There’s a love that makes you cry
There’s a love that makes you burn
There’s a love that lies beside you
In the middle of the night
There’s a love that you’ve abandoned
’Cause it wasn’t worth the fight

And you can’t forget love …

No one wants to be somebody else’s memory
Of a love they wish had never ever been
There’s no sunshine without rain
There’s no pleasure without pain
Sometimes you lose and other times you win

You don’t get to dance unless you take a chance
If you don’t spin the wheel then you can’t play
Life's a crying shame
When you’re not even in the game
So just cross your fingers and seize the day

There’s a love that makes you foolish
There’s a love that makes you strong
There’s a love that makes you feel all right
Even when you know you’re wrong
There’s a love that makes you lose it
And come apart right at the seams
There’s a love that’s unattainable
You only find it in your dreams

And you can’t forget love …
